We then see a different version of Joel and Ellie, after what happened at Silver Lake.
After a while they dramatically arrive at the hospital that the fireflies have taken over.
Life changing events transpire and we see the parental instinct of Joel take over.

She runs away from them, but they return after her and Joel with backup.
Ellie tries to distract them, so Joel doesn't get killed, but gets captured.
